— President Donald Trump, in comments concerning the possibility attending oral arguments at the Supreme Court while the justices deliberate on the legality of his tariffs. Trump later went on to tell reporters that he felt “obligated” to attend. Paul Collins, a professor of legal studies and political science at UMass Amherst, said Trump’s move would be “totally outside of the norm.” Collins continued, saying, “I think it’s an influence campaign. I believe that he thinks that his presence in the courtroom will remind the three justices he appointed that he expects something out of them.”
