In Madrid, Garrigues employees were working—for the first time—in their new corporate headquarters on Monday. The Spanish law firm had previously operated across three buildings in the capital city and relocated to a single building at Torres de Colón to house its team of 700 local professionals.

But inauguration day was cut short when, at 12:38 pm local time, Iberia’s electricity network collapsed, causing an unexpected blackout across the entire peninsula.
