— Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Joseph Nocella, Jr., in a press conference earlier today discussing the arrest of 34 people, including Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former Cleveland Cavaliers player and assistant coach Damon Jones, as the result of a years-long investigation related to illegal sports betting and rigged poker games. The fraud is described by authorities as “mind-boggling” and is linked to four Mafia families. In total, six of the defendants are accused of involvement in the sports betting scheme and 31, including Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups, are accused of involvement in the poker scheme.
