Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to feast your eyes upon the best of the best in the 2026 law revue video contest. This year, the competition was superb — and for the seventeenth edition of this contest, we decided to narrow down the competition to the top three videos.

Not only were these law students able to carry a tune (for the most part), but they also had excellent comedic timing, and provided us with professional-grade production values. Our finalists’ videos were an absolute joy with some musical theater hits, providing an excellent soundtrack for this year’s law revue stylings.

This year, your reviewers will be Staci Zaretsky, Joe Patrice, Kathryn Rubino, and Chris Williams. We issue only advisory opinions; you hold all the power.

Who will follow the winners of years past into the annals of Law Revue history? It’s up to you, our readers! Do the right thing: vote early, and vote for the best.

Before we get to the finalists, we have a wonderful honorable mention that we need to celebrate.

GW — GRANT MY 403 MOTION

STACI: WOW, can these GW law students sing! From the creative lyrics to the near-perfect harmonies, I really, really liked this one a lot. Great job!
JOE: Viewers should receive CLE credit for this one. The dancing is limited, but with singing this good the motion can be in limine.
KATHRYN: If only you could learn all of criminal procedure like this.
CHRIS: The goriest Law Revue submission I’ve heard in the years I’ve worked at ATL. Encore! Encore!

Now, onto the finalists! These videos are listed in alphabetical order by school. Voting will close on FRIDAY, MAY 8, at 10 AM (Eastern time).

GW — HELD 6-3

STACI: Live performances are usually the kiss of death for our law revue contest but as a Broadway lover, this on-point Dear Evan Hansen parody really hit the mark for me. With lyrics like “stare decisis, we don’t really give a shit,” this one is especially relevant as the Supreme Court Term draws to a close with major cases hanging in the balance.
JOE: Maybe it’s just me, but at this point, Supreme Court parodies have achieved “Not the Onion” status — that condition that plagued the satirical paper about a decade ago when reality started overtaking its jokes (thankfully, the paper more than upped its game). It’s so hard to land a joke when the Supreme Court itself has all but given up the charade.
KATHRYN: I guess it helps to laugh at the hellscape the 6-3 Supreme Court hath wrought.
CHRIS: Very campy. I’d cast my vote for this one, but there’s no real point after Louisiana v. Callais.

NYU — 1L GOING ON 2L

STACI: From the singing to the lyrics to the dancing (I see a nice shuffle ball change in there), I thought this one was really well done. Excellent work!
JOE: Fantastic work. Even got a Lexis AI reference in there. And the knife twist closing shows solid comedic instincts.
KATHRYN: The Sound of Music pastiche was so on point I half expected a thunderstorm.
CHRIS: Very whimsical! Did Nazi the twist coming.

TULSA — THE ATL LAW GROUP

STACI: I was really excited to watch this one, I really was. I’m sorry to say that I wasn’t that big of a fan. I’m not mad at you, Tulsa, I’m just disappointed.
JOE: Where are there dolphins in Tulsa? Much like the above “Not the Onion” problem, this lawyer commercial aims for over-the-top, but have you seen some of the lawyer ads out there? Nothing about this strays all that far from some real lawyer ads.
KATHRYN: Whatever, I’ll always be a sucker for a Law Revue entry that knows its audience.
CHRIS: Screw the rating. When are we suing them for IP infringement?!

It’s time to vote, everyone. Polls close on FRIDAY, MAY 8, at 10 AM (Eastern time). Get out the vote among your friends and family. Congrats!
