You stay classy Sidley.

Sidley Austin may be closing offices in China — like a lot of Biglaw these days — but that’s not stopping the firm from setting up in new locales. The firm just opened its fifth California office — it already has two in Los Angeles and two in the Bay Area — in sunny San Diego.
“San Diego is a dynamic market, with a strong nucleus of life sciences and technology companies, making our entry into San Diego a natural fit for our continued expansion strategy,” Yvette Ostolaza, Sidley’s Management Committee chair, said in a statement printed in The Recorder.
Sidley Austin was founded in Chicago in 1866 as Williams & Thompson. San Diego was, of course, discovered by the Germans in 1904…
Congratulations to the new Sidleyans. Though if this office is anything like the firm’s experience in China — or the Chargers — they’ll all be working in LA eventually.
