“At the end of the day, my priority needs to be making sure that this court’s contempt power is wielded when it ought to be wielded,” said Vice Chancellor Morgan Zurn said.
Vice Chancellor Morgan Zurn ruled at an Aug. 27 hearing not to hold the entity that owns former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social in contempt for pursuing separate litigation involving the same stock in Florida.
Zurn said while she’s frustrated with the defendants in the Delaware case, she didn’t grant motions for contempt because TMTG Sub. Inc., the company surviving the merger of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. with SPAC Digital World Acquisition Corp., hasn’t acted directly in violation of a March 2023 Chancery order.
