An open letter signed by over eight hundred lawyers, barristers, academics and both former and current senior judges, has said the U.K. must take further steps, including the imposition of trade sanctions upon Israel, to prevent the “worsening catastophe” ensuing in Palestine.
The letter, published on Monday, has been signed by 829 members of the legal community including Mishcon de Reya competition partner Wessen Jazrawi, McDermott Will & Emery partner Shah Jahan H. Khandokar—who signed in a personal capacity without association to his firm—Pennington Manches Cooper partner Hazar El-Chamaa, as well as a number of Leigh Day partners, including co-founder and senior partner Martyn Day.
