And she’s much happier as a result.

Attorney burnout is all too real a problem. So I’m sure the impulse to leave the profession and follow your bliss is entirely relatable. Maybe you fantasize about your stifled career as a dancer or an artist or even as a professional gamer, but the reality of student loan payments looms large.

Well, Scottish attorney Jade MacIntyre, 24, is LIVING THE DREAM. She’s trading in the legal profession for full time work on her Facebook gaming channel ‘The Real Slim Jadey.’

And wouldn’t you know it — she’s happier gaming than being at a law firm:

“I’m way happier doing this than I would be in a law firm.” she says. “I think that’s what it really comes down to and I know that myself, that I’ve found something that I’m passionate about and I enjoy”.
“I never had that for law”, she added. “Really I’m dropping it for something that I feel better in”.

I mean… I don’t even like gaming and SAMES.

One of MacIntyre’s former professors at the University of Strathclyd, Christopher McCorkindale, told Legal Cheek he’s happy about her change of career:

“Jade was a brilliant student and by the sounds of it is a brilliant gamer too”, he said. “We wish her all the best. Plus, a first class law degree isn’t a bad back-up to have at all!”

And more to the point, MacIntyre says she makes more from donations/advertising on her growing platform than as an attorney. Which makes doing what you love all the sweeter.
