cancellation & no-show policy

Meeting Cancellation - Attorney

  • Initial consultation
Attorneys are not charged when they need to cancel an initial consultation with a potential client.  If you can’t make the initial consultation, please cancel the appointment in xira at least 24 hours prior to the initial consultation as a courtesy to the potential client you are meeting. (Note: please do NOT delete the initial consultation in your personal calendar, but instead cancel the appointment in xira).  Please send a message (using xira’s messaging capability) to request the potential client to reschedule to another available time on your calendar. Cancellation within 24 hours of the meeting may impact your rating.
  • Follow-up meetings
Attorneys are not charged when they need to cancel any follow-up meetings with a client. Please cancel any follow-up meetings in xira at least 24 hours prior to the meeting as a courtesy to the client.  As is the case with initial consultations, do not delete follow-up meetings in your calendar without first canceling in xira and please send a message to your client to reschedule the meeting.  After the initial consultation with a client, any cancellation policy and/or fees for follow-up meetings is at your discretion and should be communicated up-front with your client.

No-show - Attorney

  • Initial consultation
Attorneys will be charged the xira initial consultation fee if they do not show up to an initial consultation with a potential client without first canceling the appointment. A history of no-shows and/or late cancellations may affect your rating or could result in termination of your xira account.  A no-show means a participant does not enter the meeting within 15 minutes after the start of the meeting.
  • Follow-up meetings
Not showing up to follow-up meetings with a client without first canceling the appointment is discouraged.  After the initial consultation with a client, any no-show policy and/or fees for follow-up meetings is at your discretion and should be communicated up-front with your client.

Meeting Cancellation - Client

  • Chargeable initial consultation
If your lawyer requires a payment for the initial consultation, the specified amount is secured at the time of booking. Cancellation of the consultation more than 24 hours in advance will not incur a charge. Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice will incur the full initial consultation charge.
