HOUSTON, TX—Emily Stroope has joined Baker Donelson as a shareholder in the Firm’s Financial Services Litigation and Compliance Group. Ms. Stroope has a national litigation practice and represents a variety of corporate clients including mortgage servicers and financial institutions.

While Ms. Stroope has represented a wide variety of corporate clients, she focuses her practice on mortgage lending and consumer financial services litigation. She regularly represents clients in litigation involving claims of violations of federal and state consumer protection statutes, including violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA).

Ms. Stroope also has experience defending lenders and other financial services institutions in real estate litigation and contract disputes and resolves complex title issues. She manages a large national portfolio of litigation in multiple jurisdictions.
