No matter what the tweets were about, Joe Biden doesn’t want to step aside.
The post Michigan Attorney General’s Not-So-Subtle Social Media Dig At Joe Biden appeared first on Above the Law.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is a noted sports fan — her (formerly) Twitter profile even includes a dig at THE Ohio State University. So it isn’t wild that, with the Olympics coming up, she’s posting on social media about the United States Women’s National soccer team.
Over the weekend, Nessel tweeted about the USNWT’s controversial decision to nix superstar Alex Morgan from the Olympic roster.
She continued.
This, my friends, is what we call a subtweet.
As plenty of people have pointed out, Nessel’s — a Democrat — posts about Morgan mimic a similar message that many are making about President Joe Biden. After a difficult debate with Donald Trump, questions about Biden’s mental acuity were raised. And, increasingly, amid poor polling numbers, Dems are practically begging the 81-year-old president to “do what’s best … for America” and “pass the baton” to vice president Kamala Harris.
Now, it’s not a perfect analogy. Morgan actively auditioned for the roster and failed to make the team, while Biden went virtually unchallenged as he racked up the electors needed to be the Democratic nominee. But it still hits pretty hard.
But Biden has said only the “Lord Almighty” can take him out of the race, so maybe we should just take the tweets to be about the Olympics. Unless, of course, the threat of a brokered convention becomes real.
