“I didn’t think there would be this kind of battle to the death to get rid of me,” said Judge Pauline Newman, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Happy Friday, and welcome to another roundup of the week’s news about the judiciary. This week, a Federal Circuit panel recommended a one-year extension on Judge Pauline Newman’s suspension over her not complying with an investigation into her competence. In a recent interview with the National Law Journal, Newman explained why she’s continuing to fight the allegations and bringing her challenge to the judicial misconduct law to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
